
They were quickly immersed in data visualization for the Constitute Project, an initiative comparing the world’s constitutions. Jaisimha, a junior majoring in electrical engineering, and Germone, a computer science and electrical/computer engineering honors junior, both applied to work in the Vislab after touring it as part of a class last year. building, Jaisimha and Gerome work with these high-tech tools as they help researchers present their data to new audiences. As research assistants at the Visualization Laboratory of the Texas Advanced Computing Center, also known as the Vislab in the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Rahul Jaisimha and Alex Gerome have all the latest audio visual hardware within reach: 3-D stereoscopic displays, a wall-sized tiled-display system known as Stallion, and an early version of the Oculus Rift virtual reality goggles which won’t be available to the public until 2016.
